Stow inaugurates Georgia racking plant and projects shorter U.S. supply lead times

Stow Group inaugurated its first U.S. manufacturing facility in Calhoun, Georgia, according to an October 16 announcement carried by AJOT. The 240,000-square-foot plant had already entered production in May; the ceremony does not mark the first day of production.

Lead-time improvement is a company expectation

The company expects domestically produced racking to reduce lead times to roughly six to nine weeks, versus 12 to 15 weeks for imported products. It reported about 120 positions filled, with approximately 200 jobs anticipated at full capacity.

Understanding the update

These are supplier projections, not independently measured delivery guarantees for every order. Domestic production also does not remove site-specific engineering and installation requirements.

What it means for drivers and carriers

Warehouse teams can compare domestic racking quotes, confirmed delivery slots and installation schedules when evaluating expansion projects.

Questions to consider

  • Does the supplier's confirmed delivery date match the warehouse project's installation window?
