Answers for drivers and carriers about applications, approval, recruiting, and portal access.

Driver applications and next steps

What happens after I apply?

A recruiter will contact you by the next business day to discuss your experience, preferences, and potential openings. Keep your phone available for a call or text.

Do I need a résumé or an account?

No résumé or account is required to submit the short driver application. Be ready to discuss your CDL details and recent driving history when a recruiter contacts you.

Is Step 2 required?

No. Step 2 is optional. Answers about routes, equipment, endorsements, home time, pay, and pet or rider needs help us understand which opportunities may fit. You can skip it and review your application.

What do OTR, regional, and local mean?

OTR means over-the-road driving, typically across longer distances with time away from home. Regional routes cover a smaller area. Local routes often offer more frequent time at home. Exact schedules and home time depend on the carrier and job.

Can I request a pet or rider?

Yes. Share those needs in Step 2. Carrier policies, fees, and eligibility vary, so confirm the details before accepting an opportunity.

Will my application be sent directly to a carrier?

No. RoadHouse Recruiting reviews your details and discusses potential opportunities with you before the next step. See our Privacy Policy for how application information is used and shared.

Carrier accounts and recruiting

Should I ask about recruiting or apply for an account?

Ask about recruiting if you want to discuss services or hiring needs. Apply for a carrier account if you want access to the company portal. An inquiry does not create a portal account.

How does carrier approval work?

Submit your company details, business email, hiring needs, and account password. RoadHouse reviews the application and approves or denies it. Your portal account remains inactive until approval.

How can I check my application status?

Use Check application status with the business email and password you used to apply. You can also enter those credentials on the login page. No portal access is granted while review is pending.

What can approved carriers access?

You can view drivers assigned to your company, download their shared documents, create and manage your company jobs, and update your account contact name and password. Access is limited to your own company records.

Why are no drivers or documents showing?

RoadHouse must first assign a driver to your company. Documents appear only when files have been shared for an assigned driver. Contact RoadHouse if you expected a driver or document to appear.

Can I post jobs for another company?

No. Jobs created through your account belong to your approved company. You can update or close your own jobs. The public job openings page is currently unavailable.

What if I need help signing in?

Call (312) 566-7720 during Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM Central, or email support@roadhouserecruiting.com. Do not send your password by email.

Qualifications and SAP

What is an automatic-only restriction?

This generally means your CDL restricts you to operating commercial vehicles with automatic transmissions. Check your license and answer based on your current restriction. If you are unsure, choose “Not sure” and discuss it with your recruiter.

Are TWIC cards and passports CDL endorsements?

No. They are separate credentials. They appear alongside endorsements in our form because some opportunities may require port access or international travel. Select only the credentials you currently hold.

What is SAP?

SAP stands for Substance Abuse Professional. A DOT-qualified SAP evaluates workers after a DOT drug or alcohol program violation and recommends education, treatment, follow-up testing, and aftercare. “SAP status” in our application asks about your progress in that process.

DOT SAP information

Does completing a SAP program mean I can drive immediately?

Completing recommended education or treatment is one part of the DOT return-to-duty process. Other steps, including the required return-to-duty test, may still be needed. Consult your SAP and employer about your status. Carrier hiring requirements also vary.

FMCSA return-to-duty guide

Can I apply if I have a SAP history?

You can share your status in Step 2 or choose “Prefer to discuss.” A recruiter can discuss your background and relevant carrier requirements. Submitting an application does not guarantee eligibility or a job offer.
