What happens after you apply with RoadHouse Recruiting

Prepare for the first conversation and understand the steps toward a carrier opportunity.

By RoadHouse Recruiting · Reviewed October 3, 2026

Start with the short application

Step 1 collects your contact information and the essentials about your CDL, experience, location, and availability. Step 2 is optional and helps us understand routes, equipment, home time, pay expectations, and other preferences. You can move between steps without losing your answers.

Prepare for recruiter follow-up

A recruiter will contact you by the next business day. Have your recent driving history, current credentials, availability, and must-have preferences ready to discuss. Make a short list of questions about pay, routes, home time, equipment, and benefits.

Talk through potential matches

Your application is reviewed by RoadHouse Recruiting before next steps with a carrier are discussed. Be clear about requirements you cannot compromise on and preferences where you have flexibility. Ask which specific account or opening is being discussed.

Confirm details before moving forward

Request the role’s pay structure, hiring area, experience requirements, schedule, and home time in writing. Ask what orientation involves, where it happens, who covers travel, and what remaining checks or documents are needed.

Understand the carrier’s decision

The carrier completes its qualification checks and makes the hiring decision. An application or recruiter conversation is not a job offer. Confirm any offer, start date, and outstanding conditions before making travel or employment changes.
